![]() I dont remember if this is in the Anime, or just in the Ninja Storm game, and I don't know if it is in the manga but that moment Gaara confronts Sasuke at the kage summit speaks volumes. He opened Gaara's perspective on life and bought him out from the dark, Gaara's motivations completely changed from driving himself through murder and death to driving himself through the preservation of bonds that he's formed, whether its his friends or his own village. Naruto somewhat understood Gaara as a person and he was the one who was able to speak to him. He went from being someone that desired for social contact and interaction as an innocent child, to someone who embraced the monster within and drove himself through acts of murder. The fact that the one person he saw as compassionate and understanding to his nature was the one assigned to kill him made him fall farther into his dark desires and perspective of life. Even the authorities, including his own father, wanted to isolate and cast him as a pariah. ![]() ![]() He was completely isolated from almost everyone and he had little to no control over his actions. ![]() It wasn't easy, he had it worse than Naruto did. He's a well written character, his view on life was heavily distorted by his childhood.
